This time I will give a short tutorial on how to limit our internet speed used by Windows to download updates
Have you ever been using your computer suddenly the internet connection suddenly dropped or became slow even though it wasn't downloading or many other people were using the connection, this usually happens when Microsoft provides a new update for the Windows operating system that we install,
As we know Windows Update can automatically download new update data without having to set it, this will cause slow internet connection usage because Windows Update takes up a lot of bandwidth or connection speed which is intended for downloading new updates.
In this tutorial, I will provide a solution to the problems above not by turning off the automatic windows update feature but using the windows update absolute bandwidth which can limit the use of internet speed used to download updates, because I think windows updates are very useful because our computers will always be protected. and got the latest features from microsoft.
- Windows update absolute bandwidth
Well, let's just start by accessing the windows settings that regulate the absolute bandwidth feature by typing "delivery optimization advanced settings" in the start menu (Box1)
then we click open (box2) until the display changes as shown below.
As can be seen from the picture above, the absolute option is active (box1) but has not been set for how much internet speed is allocated if Windows automatically downloads updates (box2) also called background downloading or when we open windows updates and wait for updates to finish downloading ( box3) or foreground download.
You can set as you like by clicking the box (Box4) next to the new bandwidth setting can be active and you can change the amount of speed that can be set (box5)
I suggest only setting background download (box2) because we don't care how long the update process takes, the important thing is that it doesn't take up a lot of our connection bandwidth, while foreground download (box3) doesn't need to be limited or just leave it blank because if the foreground downloads it means we waiting for the download process to finish by opening the windows update settings, of course you want the fastest download process.
Alright, here's the tutorial this time, if you have any questions, please ask below.
