This time I will give a tutorial on the basic transformation of an object in Blender. This tutorial will explain briefly and simply about moving, resizing, rotating an object in Blender.
There will be 3 ways to perform the basic transformation above, the first 2 ways are used to perform the transformation accurately while the last one can move, resize, rotate existing objects freely.
Before we start, maybe there are those who are still not familiar with the blender software, please read the article below
What is Render and how to use it in Blender
We start by opening the blender application that we have after opening there will be a basic object or initial object in the middle of the viewport as shown below.
Transform menu
The first step is to use the transform menu, the transform menu by default is already on the right of the screen(box1) but if you haven't found it you can search for it by clicking or selecting an existing object (box2) then you select the editor type "properties" (box3) then click object properties (box4) so that it looks like the picture below
On the transform menu there are 3 options that can be used to move (box1), Scale(box3) and rotate object(box2) as shown below
Each option has a value of i X,Y,Z, this value is what we have to change so that there is a change in the object we have. To find out the changes that will occur to our object according to the i X,Y,Z values, you can see the i X,Y,Z (axis) values as shown below
The x-axis is red in the picture above the x-axis stretches from left to right (box1) while the Y-axis from back to front is green (box2) and the top-down z-axis is blue (box3) apart from the view in the viewport we can know the direction X,Y,Z axis via the display on the top right(box4)
Next, to move, resize, rotate objects with the transform menu, we only need to fill in the values for the X,Y,Z (axis) values as shown below.
Example 1
Moving the object to the right in the direction of the X axis by adding a positive value (box1) otherwise if we add a negative value the object will move to the left
Example 2
Rotate the object to the right in the Y-axis direction by adding a positive value (box1) otherwise if we add a negative value the object will move to the left
Example 3
The last is to increase the size of the object in the direction of the Z axis by adding a positive value (box1), the object will be bigger, on the other hand, if we reduce the value, the object will be more. Different from other transforms giving a negative value to the object will enlarge it.
Alright that's where the first way is next
Shortcuts
The second way, using the shortcut, the second method is quite easy, we only need to memorize the existing shortcut and we can move, resize, rotate the existing object using the X,Y,Z axis as the limit.
First of all, make sure we have selected the object that you want to transform, then you just need to click on the shortcut below according to the type of transform you want, then move the object using the mouse and the CTRL key like the example below.
Example 1
Move the object to the left in the direction of the X axis by clicking the G + X shortcut and then dragging it using the mouse and pressing the CTRL key so that the displacement has a rounded value (box1)
Example 2
Rotate the object to the left in the direction of the Y axis by clicking the shortcut R + Y then drag using the mouse and pressing the CTRL key so that the displacement has a rounded value (box1)
Example 3
The last is to increase the size of the object in the direction of the Z axis by clicking the shortcut S + Z then drag the mouse away from the center point of the object (box1) while pressing the CTRL key so that the displacement has a rounded value (box2)
Final
The last method is very easy, not much different from the second method, we only need to select the object and then return the shortcut described above G to move the object, R to rotate the object and S to change the size of the object and then use the mouse to make changes to the object as desired.
