This time I will give easy tips to reduce the use of our laptop or PC ram by limiting the number of tabs that are active in our browser with Passive Tab Mode or Sleeping Tab.
Microsoft Edge is a new browser from Microsoft that replaces the old browser called Internet Explorer which is still active today, but many have switched to Microsoft Edge because it has a better user interface and faster process performance.
As a new browser, Microsoft Edge is very popular with new users and has been able to compete with other well-known browsers such as Google Chrome, one of the advantages of Microsoft Edge compared to Google Chrome is the use of RAM or system usage which is very efficient and light and can even be reduced again by using the Sleeping Tab feature which I will explain this time
As seen from the image below the google chrome(box1) browser has a larger ram usage than microsoft edge(box2) *both browsers have 9 tabs
As seen above, Google Chrome's RAM usage is indeed bigger than Microsoft Edge, but Microsoft Edge's RAM usage is also quite large, so let's start reducing the existing RAM usage by using sleeping Tab Mode in Microsoft Edge from Microsoft.
First of all, we open the Microsoft Edge application and then we click the three dots (box1) on the top right then we look for settings (box2) as shown above
After the setting button is clicked, a new tab will open that is setting, then we look for system(box1)
Then we make sure the sleep mode option is active (box2) by default it is active then select how long it takes to make the tab enter sleep mode (box3)
When finished we select the desired time starting from the fastest 5 minutes the existing tab will be deactivated and its appearance turns gray (box1) and as seen from the image below the ram usage changes to less even though the tabs are the same (box2)
Alright, here are the tips for reducing ram usage this time, if you have any questions, please comment below, thank you for visiting, see you in the next article
